QMJHL Roundup: Dawson Mercer's hat-trick leads Chicoutimi over Sherbrooke, 4-2

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Chicoutimi Sagueneens forward Dawson Mercer scored a natural hat-trick in a 4-2 win over the Sherbrooke Phoenix Saturday night. 

The Sagueneens were down 2-1 until Mercer scored the first of his three goals in the second period. Mercer would then add his second and third of the night in the third period. 

Matej Kaslik also scored for Chicoutimi (15-5-3-2). 

Charles Tremblay and Anthony Munroe-Boucher scored for Sherbrooke (6-17-1-1).

OCEANIC 5 TIGRES 3

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Adam Raksa scored twice in a 5-3 Rimouski Oceanic win over the Victoriaville Tigres. Ludovic Soucy scored the game-winning goal in the third period for the Oceanic. Xavier Cormier and Alex Drover also scored for Rimouski. Shawn Element scored twice while Conor Frenette added another for Victoriaville.

REMPARTS 7, HUSKIES 1

VAL d'OR, Que. — The Remparts scored seven unanswered goals in a 7-1 victory over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies Saturday night. Hugo Audette and Nathan Gaucher scored twice for Quebec, while also getting goals from Thomas Caron, Mikael Huchette, and Nicolas Savoie.

OLYMPIQUES 5, ARMADA 4

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — The Gatineau Olympiques overcame a 4-2 deficit to defeat the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 5-4 in overtime Saturday night. Manix Landry scored the overtime winner 1:06 into the extra frame. Zachary Dean, Metis Roelens, Olivier Boutin, and Andrew Coxhead scored for Gatineau.

EAGLES 5 MOOSEHEADS 4 (OT)

HALIFAX — Dawson Stairs scored the overtime winner to give the Cape Breton Eagles a 5-4 victory over the Halifax Mooseheads Saturday night. Stairs also scored a first period goal for the Eagles. Zachary L'Heureux scored twice for the Mooseheads.

TITAN 8 WILDCATS 7 (SO)

MONCTON, N.B. — Adam McCormick scored a fifth-round game-winning shootout goal to give the Acadie-Bathurst Titan an 8-7 win over the Moncton Wildcats. Bennett MacArthur added two goals and an assist for the Titan in a winning effort.
