VICTORIA — Dawson Pasternak scored three goals and teammate Justin Kipkie added a pair as the Victoria Royals defeated the visiting Kamloops Blazers 7-2 in Western Hockey League action on Saturday at Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena.

Ryan Spizawka and Casper Evensen Haugen also scored for the Royals (24-14-3-3). The teams were scoreless after the first period, but the Royals took a 5-1 lead into the third. Cole Reschny had four assists for the Royals, while Tyson Laventure had three helpers.

Harrison Brunicke and Kai Matthew scored for the Blazers (10-28-3-2).

Royals netminder Braden Holt saved 26 of 28 shots, while Blazers goalie Jesse Sanche stopped 15 of 22 shots.
