On May 12, 2022 René Leon Durocher, formerly of Mallaig, AB passed away peacefully in his sleep at Extendicare in Bonnyville at the age of 92 years. After having celebrated his 68th wedding anniversary with Rosalie in the afternoon, his wish to go and rejoice with the Lord was finally granted. René is lovingly survived by his wife: Rosalie Durocher of Bonnyville, AB, his six daughters and two sons.Therese (Brian) Malak of Lacombe, AB and their children: Suzanne (Sal) Fashori & their children: Mina & Kale; Richard (Stephany) Malak & their children: Tyran & Selina; Katherine (Gil) Magne and their children: Mathieu, Néomie, Loïc, Amélyn. Carmen (Allan) Plamondon of Glendon, AB and their children: Corine (Les) Korn & their children: Hayden, Hudson & Rowan; Rachel Plamondon and her children: Ethan, Bryce & Deacon; Anthony Plamondon; Marty (Lotus) Plamondon and their children: Cooper & Hayes; Curtis (Jodie) Plamondon and their children: Wyatt, Nolan, Rhéa & Cole. Madeleine (Robert) Pratch of Goodridge, AB and their children: Gregory (Courtney) Pratch & their children: Artemis & Exzodius; Douglas Pratch. Marcel Durocher of Fort St. John, BC. Loraine Durocher of Ardrossan, AB and her children: Alyxandrea Durocher, MacKenzie Durocher. Stella Durocher (Gord Beatty) of Edmonton, AB and his children. Victor Durocher of Edmonton, AB and his children: Amanda Durocher, Rebecca Durocher, Emily Durocher. René is also survived by his sister: Adeline Gascon of Drayton Valley, AB; as well as numerous in-laws, nieces & nephews. René was predeceased by his parents: Xavier & Antoinette Durocher; sister: Irene (Lucien) Malo; brother-in-law: Henri Gascon. A private Service of Remembrance, for family & invited guests only, was held held Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Memento Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville, Alberta with Father Jhack Diaz officiating. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place at a later date.
