It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Paula Susan Jones, our dear mother, grandmother, sister, partner, and friend in Edmonton, Alberta. Paula (known as “Susie” by her family) was born in the remote coastal town of Ocean Falls, BC. She spent three of her high school years in Switzerland and sang with the Elgar Choir in the USSR. Paula's passion for travel was sparked, drawing her into the travel business for more than 30 years.  Paula continued to travel extensively with her family and friends for many years, her last trip was in 2019, cruising around South America with sister Nina . Shortly after this Paula was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

Paula lived in Ashmont for over 20 years, where she raised her 2 children. She moved to Fort McMurray in 1998 and retired from Finning in 2013. Upon retirement, she relocated, with partner Donal Higgins, to Edmonton where she volunteered for 6 years with the Edmonton Food Bank.

Paula is survived by her partner Donal Higgins; her children: Evan Jones with Mandy, granddaughters Kattie and Morgan; Erica Todorowich with Jay; granddaughters: Annalise and Adaira; sisters Nina Evans-Locke and Choo-Choo Bruemmer with Arist; nieces: Carys, Tegan, Kristie, Nadia and nephew Christian; and friends from around the world. A private family Celebration of Life is planned for late Sept on Vancouver Island. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Food Bank in Paula’s name.
