It is with heavy hearts the family of Erik Teetsov, husband of Helen Teetsov (Palmer), announces that he slipped away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, Charlottetown, PE. Born in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England on July 22, 1950, he was the son of the late Heino and Ellen (Telvik) Teetsov.
He is survived by Helen, his partner since January 9, 1978 and loving wife since July 4, 1981. In addition to Helen, he is survived by his son Oliver Teetsov of Alberta, his daughter Allison Teetsov (Doug Blythe) of Ontario; cherished grandchildren Noah, Rebecca and Hudson; along with many fur babies over the years. Fondly remembered by family and friends in the UK and Northern Ireland, Canada, and the USA.
Erik worked as the Supervisor of Signs and Pavement Markings for the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto for many years. After leaving the city, he continued his career with Mark-All Service Inc.
Erik was an avid music lover with a wide diversity of genres. His favourite artists were Van Morrison, Willy DeVille, & Mickey Newbury. He was heavily involved with his son’s hockey and coached the house league team where they won a father and son trophy. After retirement, he was able to embrace his love for the outdoors with his dog, Sparky. He loved nature trails and beach walks, had a keen eye for photography and was an absolute wordsmith when a limerick was needed.
Following retirement Erik and Helen moved to Prince Edward Island, a place they love.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. P. Whitlock, Dr. L. Pan and the staff at the Cancer Treatment Centre for the care, compassion and encouragement they gave Erik during his treatment.
We would also like to express our gratitude to Dr. M. Lecours (whom Erik called his guardian angel) and her amazing, loving and dedicated team at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home. By personal request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
