The Bonnyville Voyageurs wrapped up an exciting regular season with a huge victory Friday evening. They had a turbulent season, with an impressive start, winning their first three games, then hitting a rough patch of a couple losses, and finally getting an important victory before heading into playoffs.
Coming together as a team was the key to Bonnyville's successful season. From the season opening kick off, the Voyageurs were playing for each other and working to win as a team. Their coaches have preached a team attitude and the boys have picked it up. You can see the players pumping each other up and cheering each other on every game. They support one another on the sidelines and on the field, which has translated into fun games and big wins.
There have been so many outstanding and notable performances by several Voyageurs this season. But with football being the ultimate team sport, you win as a team and lose as a team, individual effort is only part of the equation. The Voyageurs are a great example of a good bunch of players coming together to make a great team.
As a fan of the team and a fan of football, I hope they ride this last big win of the regular season and keep the momentum going right through the playoffs. A championship for the Voyageurs is not out of the question.
