June 4-10 marks Seniors' Week across Alberta and many communities, including Bonnyville, are hosting events to celebrate the achievements and contributions our seniors make in our communities everyday.
Make sure to take time this week to pay a visit or two to the seniors who have made a difference in your life.
Seniors' Week activities include a strawberry tea at Extendicare on Tuesday at 3 p.m., an open house at the museum on Friday at 1 p.m., cribbage and snacks at the Ardmore Seniors' Centre also on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a breakfast smorg in Ardmore as well, at 9 a.m. Saturday. On Sunday, the Bonnyville Seniors' Drop-In Centre will be hosting the 13th annual Seniors' Fish Fry, an evening with salmon, ham and cabbage rolls, with music and choir performances.
With so many options and ways to show our seniors we appreciate their contributions to our community, Seniors' Week makes it easy to do what we should make sure to do all year round.
So set aside some time this week to attend a breakfast, play some whist or just stop in and visit. For all the seniors have done for this community, it is the least we can do.
