To the Editor:
In the last few months, I have looked at my C.P.P. statement and was shocked. I think if people saw the numbers comparing an MPs pensions paid by us versus C.P.P. pensions, it would get people moving.
An MP receives a full pension at 55, while with C.P.P, you get full pension at 65 or 67 – it doesn't matter.
An MP’s pension sees a one per cent per year penalty with early retirement, while with C.P.P., the penalty is six per cent each year.
An MP’s maximum is 100,000 per year, while with C.P.P., it’s a little over 12,000. An MP can earn up to $1 million in pensions before a C.P.P. pensioner gets $1.
Why isn't the public getting this information? This needs to be addressed before we give handouts to other countries or people.
There is a fable or myth that the kings house didn't eat until everyone in the kingdom had food to eat! This is a disgrace.
