I just don't get why

Last week, nails were found scattered around the Cold Lake dog park.

The only question I was left with was ‘why?’

As a dog owner, I can’t even begin to describe how angry I was to hear that someone had taken it upon themselves to litter the dog park with inch-long nails.

It’s malicious, harmful, and not benefiting anyone.

These dogs, and even their owners, have done nothing to deserve this.

Because really, it’s not just about the physical harm it could have caused. Pet owners love their dogs, cats, hamsters, parrots, or whatever animal they choose to bring into their life, very much.

Someone going out of their way to hurt their beloved family member leaves a bad taste in their mouth.

The Town of Bonnyville has it in their budget for this year to build a dog park.

There are so many dog owners that have worked endlessly to make this project happen.

It would be a shame that if after all of that hard work, it was tainted by someone’s poor behaviour.

A dog park is similar to a playground. We take our pets there to let out energy, socialize, and just have fun outside.

We don’t want to have to worry our four-legged loved ones are going to be stepping on a nail that some inconsiderate person scattered in the long grass.

Now, I worry that when I take Copper, his nose will lead him in a dangerous direction.

Actions like this have always made me bitter. Whether it has to do with pets or children.

They’re innocent. There’s nothing they could have done to deserve to be treated this way.
