To the Editor:
With this past weekend being devoted to Autism Awareness, I felt it necessary to validate our personal appreciation to this community.
My son Victor has autism; his path has been guided by some truly dedicated, accepting and loving angels here in St. Paul. Many have given one-on-one support with him in the community and at school, while many more have provided the background work it takes to gather services, resources, training and education, to understand, as well as help him, on this journey. Victor has made personal connections with many everyday people in all his favourite shopping places, favourite eateries, as well as doctors’ and dentists’ offices, the hospital, drug store, the theatre and the pool.
Special thanks to FSCD for always being there, in crisis and in celebration, to all those in the St. Paul Education Regional Division system that have helped Victor along the way and all the individuals and families who have helped us by being there when we needed open arms and open hearts.
Congratulations to St. Paul Abilities Network and Zarowny Motors for putting on the Pancakes for Autism event and to the St. Paul Journal for opening the door to awareness of autism. Victor would not be as successful as he has become without all the blessed people that have touched our lives.
With ‘majore’ appreciation,
Michelle and Victor Majore
