To the Editor,

According to Mr. Prentice’s 10-year financial plan, the seniors of Alberta have been budgeted for $560 million to maintain and upgrade facilities, and continued assistance.

Where is the government getting some of the money?

Between 2013-14, I had a slight increase in my income through pensions/subsidy, etc. Residing in government housing, Buckingham House in Elk Point, my rent is going up $600 per year as of June 2015. Due to my income threshold, my seniors’ benefits will be cut as of July 15 by $2,050 per year.

I will be at a negative loss of $637 per year.

I am only one senior. Now you know how our current government is helping the seniors of this province.
