There comes a time in every man's life when he can run or face the pucks.

My time has come.

As per the pre-season wager between me and “The Voice of the Pontiacs”, Robb Hunter, I will be suiting up, strapping on and most likely shaking violently as I prepare to take the ice as a goaltender during the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs practice this Friday.

Many of you may be wondering, “Wasn't this supposed to happen two months ago?”

The answer is yes. I was supposed to suit up for a Pontiacs practice after losing as the guest coach in the annual Black vs. White inter-squad game.

A quick recap: Robb and I were opposing guest coaches in the inter-squad game. After my team got out to an early lead, Robb's team made a valiant comeback to win the game. Our wager was that the losing coach would have to suit up as a goalie in an upcoming Pontiacs practice.

All was well and good until the day of the practice arrived and the equipment I was supposed to use had disappeared.

I still believe Robb “Huntsy” Hunter had something to do with it, but the truth of the matter has yet to reveal itself.

Nonetheless, I will be following through on the wager this Friday at 2 p.m.

I have secured a second-hand set of goalie equipment from the Pontiacs goalie tandem of Dylan Wells and Curtis Honey and confirmed the practice time with the powers that be.

And to all those interested in witnessing something as of yet indescribable, come down to the rink this Friday and enjoy the performance.

Who knows, maybe you'll be witness to the next Steve Buzinski.
