There are a few more moustached men around town these days – and we couldn't be more grateful for it. The additional 'stache power comes as part of a national awareness and fundraising campaign for men's health, an often overlooked and under appreciated subject.
Movember, winding down at the of the month, is where men, young and old alike, don the 'stache to spark conversation on the reason for the season (Movember season) and hopefully raise some cash along the way to benefit causes related to men's health.
We fully support the Mo-bro's and their campaign to raise awareness and cash for men's health issues. Reports indicate a few RCMP officers at the St. Paul and Saddle Lake detachments are on board, and that other men around town have also joined the effort.
While women cannot participate in terms of growing a moustache for the cause, Mo-Sistas, as they're called, support men in the cause. As the story on page three shows, that support is also important for raising awareness for the cause.
There is still time to contribute to the campaign. Go to http://ca.movember.com/ and make a pledge for the local officers, or drop it off at the detachment.
Be sure to complement all the participants you see around town, and hopefully at the same time, raise awareness for Movember.
