TransCanada is proud of being a leading company in delivering responsible energy to North Americans, whether that be oil, natural gas or power that we all rely on.

The fact of the matter is the oil sands is one of the most highly regulated industries in the world, with technological investment into improvement that takes a second place to no one. At the same time, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers recently pointed out that the oil and gas industry is the largest user of solar panels in Alberta. We all recognize the importance of an integrated energy future.

The reality is that North Americans, including professional activists, will require carbon-based fuels will be needed well into the future to help heat our homes, power our factories, harvest our crops and start some 250 million cars a day. North Americans need every energy source and we make no apologies for being an industry leader in the safe and efficient transportation of energy across the continent.

Despite the rhetoric from professional activists, you cannot simply turn off an oil pump today and install a solar panel tomorrow without having a major impact on our economy and way of life. Activists like Ms. Kleeb know this since the “clean energy barn” that she helped erect runs primarily on coal-fired electricity, not the solar panels on its roof.
