While registering in advance can save you time at the polling station on election day, you can still register at the polls. All Canadian citizens who are at least 18 years old on April 28, 2025 are eligible to vote in the federal election.

According to data from Elections Canada, 137 special ballots have been issued to voters in the Lakeland so far, and 270 special ballots have been issued in the Fort McMurray-Cold Lake riding. 

2025 federal election race sees six candidates on the ticket before campaign deadline on Monday, April 7.

Lethbridge-based New Democrat Kaitte Aurora is running for the Foothills seat in the upcoming federal election.

The new riding, made up of the soon-to-be defunct Banff-Airdrie riding, has not seen a Libertarian party candidate in past election cycles.
