A 19-year-old faces charges related to the stabbing of two people in Kehewin

KEHEWIN – After an incident occurred at a residence in Kehewin Cree Nation on May 28, two people are now recovering from stab wounds at home. 

Just after midnight, the Bonnyville RCMP were dispatched to a high priority call at a residence in Kehewin where two victims were reportedly stabbed. 

Once RCMP and first responders arrived on scene, one of the victims who had sustained serious injuries was transported by STARS Air Ambulance to an Edmonton Hospital. The other victim was treated locally at the Bonnyville hospital. 

Both victims have since been released from hospital and are recovering, according to information provided by police. 

Tommy Frenchman, a 19-year-old from Kehewin, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of breaching a Release Order from a previous incident he was charged with.   

Frenchman is set to appear in court on June 6.
