LAC LA BICHE - A group of area residents quite literally put the icing on the work week Friday night at a cake decorating workshop hosted by a local bakery.

With instruction from the owners of Lac La Biche's Queen Bean Café and Bakery, the course offered hands-on learning to the group of folks looking for some sweet rewards as they built their own Christmas-themed reindeer cakes.

The step-by-delicious-step workshop first provided participants with layer cake rounds which they filled with icing. Next, they were shown icing and decoration techniques. The reindeer cakes were spruced up with a variety of sweet treats, including sprinkles, chocolate candies, and chocolate antlers, which were put on at the end.

The Queen Bean crew is known for their baked goods, cookies, cupcakes and cakes. The shop caters for lunches, birthday and any events. They hope the workshop creates a sweet-spot for residents when it comes to desert ideas.
