For 25 years, Canada Ride For Dad has been an event across Canada with one goal—to fight prostate cancer. The initiative has raised more than $43 million to date. The Lakeland Ride For Dad chapter was established in 2015 and has raised approximately $200,000 dollars in 10 years. Now is your chance to grab your motorcycle and a pledge form and get involved in this year’s ride.
The starting location is 784 Wing Airforce Association of Canada with registration between 8 am and 9:30 am. Hungry? Grab a breakfast sandwich for $5 during registration and start the ride on a full stomach.
Kickstands go up at 10 am on the dot. There is a break for lunch at Cornerstone Co-op in St. Paul. After the route, relax with fellow riders back at the starting point (784 Wing Airforce Association) where a $20 cover gets you live music by Bonfire Moon and Berlyn, and $25 gets you a steak or chicken BBQ meal to go along with it. Be sure to grab your dinner tickets while registering on the day of the event.
Registration is just $40. However, collect $100 in pledges and you can register for free!
Want even more ways to support a great cause? Commemorative souvenirs, pins, patches, and apparel are available for purchase. Riders and non-riders alike can volunteer, and anyone can donate online to support a rider, a team, a community ride, or the parent organization.
Prostate cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among men, affecting an estimated 1 in 8 Canadian men during their lifetime. While advancements in diagnostics and treatment have improved outcomes, early detection remains critical. Unfortunately, for many men, symptoms don’t appear until the disease is more advanced, making education and screening essential. Every mile ridden and every dollar pledged makes a difference. Over 25 years of Ride For Dad events, countless lives have been touched by the funds raised. In addition to supporting critical research, supporting Ride For Dad helps remove the stigma around prostate cancer and helps encourage men to seek care.
Why wait? Join today as a rider or volunteer and enjoy a great day of fun and socialization all in support of a life-saving cause. Learn more online and follow Lakeland Ride for Dad on Facebook.
