LAC LA BICHE - For a few hours on Sunday afternoon, the Lakeland Agricom in Lac La Biche resembled a scene from a Disney movie - or several of them - as a large group of children and their families gathered for the Princess Tea.

During the Princess Tea, which took place from 1-4 p.m., many attendees dressed as their favourite fictional princesses and were given the royal treatment, with volunteers doing their hair and nails, and painting their faces. There was also an opportunity to hang out with some Disney princesses who made a special appearance at the event, including Cinderella, Snow White and Belle.

And what would any princess be without her castle? Set up inside the Agricom was a modified version of a Disney castle, complete with stairs leading to a balcony.

The princesses could also get photos taken to capture the magic and fun of the special day.

In keeping with the Disney premise, the theme of this year’s Princess Tea was ‘Under the Sea,' inspired by the iconic classic ‘The Little Mermaid.’ In addition to the tea that was served, the event also featured themed food such as crab sandwiches, along with other colourful delicacies.

The Princess Tea is put together by the Lac La Biche Ag Society and is a fundraising event for the local organization.
