LAC LA BICHE - Students at Aurora Middle School got their ribbons for top finishes in several different categories of track and field at Thursday's annual event.

First and second place ribbons send youngsters from Grades 4 to 8 onto district competitions in the coming weeks.

The track and field day is a continuation of physical education classes for many students, getting pointers from teachers in practice sessions in each of the events before the best of three attempts are recorded in each grade level.

Teachers at Aurora were assisted at this year's track events by students and teachers from J. A. Williams High School.
