ST. PAUL - The St. Paul Rec Centre was bustling with people during Community Awareness Night on Sept. 13. The annual event allows community groups and organizations to set up a table, and offering registration or other general information to the public.
Athletic clubs such as St. Paul Minor Ball, St. Paul Soccer, St. Paul Barracudas, St. Paul Figure Skating, and more were on hand promoting their upcoming seasons. Post-secondary educations such as Portage College and University nuhelot’įne thaiyots’į nistameyimâkanak Blue Quills were also available to share information about their programming.
The Town of St. Paul was busy handing out the fall/winter community guide, and St. Paul Regional FCSS staff were also on hand to promote programs, along with the St. Paul Youth Council. The event acts as a way for all residents to get to know what types of opportunities are available locally.
There were 589 people in attendance at St. Paul Community Awareness with 55 table for organizations, according to Brenda Billo, programmer with FCSS. Elk Point's Community Awareness, which was held earlier in the month saw 200 people attending and 34 organizations participating, she added.
