ST. PAUL – Amid the greenery just outside Glen Avon was a scene filled with laughter as Grade 2 students released butterflies to nature's embrace.

Kyla Reid, their teacher, said that as part of the students' curriculum, they observed the process of butterfly metamorphosis, beginning with small larvae. It took around a few weeks until they transformed into butterflies.

On June 16, the students released the butterflies, with some of the nectar-feeding creatures refusing to leave the fingers of the students – much to the kids' worries.

But with gentle guidance from the youth, the butterflies soon soared to the sky in all their glory.
