While Justin Trudeau and the Liberals will head back to Parliament for a second consecutive term, the Conservative Party, unsurprisingly, mostly swept Alberta during the Oct. 21 federal election.

Four Lakeland MP candidates appear at debate

The Green Party of Canada has a candidate in the Fort McMurray-Cold Lake riding after Brian Deheer put his name forward. It was party leader Elizabeth May who caught Deheer’s attention during candidate debates that prompted him to become involved.

A Liberal candidate has stepped up to the plate in the Lakeland riding. Mark Watson added his name to the ballot with the hope of being elected the next MP.

Jeffrey Swanson has entered the race for Lakeland MP as the candidate for the New Democratic Party (NDP).

Lakeland riding constituents will have a new option on their ballots when they head to the polls on Oct. 21, after Roberta Graham entered the race as a candidate for the Veterans Coalition Party of Canada (VCP).

With the federal election just a few short weeks away, residents have the chance to get informed about their options before they head to the polls.
