Highways and bridges across the Lakeland are getting provincial attention.

3The MD of Bonnyville has created a program to help residents protect their properties, now all they need is for the public to utilize it.

It was a busy weekend for Lakeland-area fire crews as they battled multiple fires across the area. In the MD of Bonnyville, the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority (BRFA) couldn’t count on one hand the number of calls they responded to.

Nine-hundred and seventy nights were spent by Lakeland families at the Ronald MacDonald House (RMH) last year. In 2017, the RMH saved local families in need over $160,000 in accommodations and food.

Residents in the City of Cold Lake talked about the highs and lows of future cannabis use during an information open house.

Water levels throughout the MD of Bonnyville are being monitored, but from what they can see, there’s nothing to worry about. “We do have a few roads where the MD has set-up detours, but nothing abnormal. You’re going to get those every spring.

Municipal leaders are starting to worry about the future of the regional waterline, as the April 2020 deadline approaches. The project is getting ready for tender, however there has been a bit few setbacks.

It was a tough decision for Bonnyville-Cold Lake MLA Scott Cyr, but he knows it was the right one. Last week, Cyr announced he wouldn’t be running in the scheduled 2019 election for the Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul riding.

Upgrades to Baywood Rd. will forge ahead as scheduled. The City of Cold Lake postponed their decision to assist the MD of Bonnyville with funding this year’s portion of the Baywood Rd. project.

The City of Cold Lake is forging ahead with the artificial turf field. Surprisingly enough for council, they're ahead of schedule and on budget for the grandstand artificial turf field.
