Shannon Stubbs is hoping to continue the Conservative's run in the Lakeland riding as Canada heads into its 42nd federal election.

The Liberal Party of Canada has expanded their list of candidates, selecting Garry Parenteau as the nominee for the Lakeland riding in the upcoming federal election.

The Libertarian party will be on the ballot in the Lakeland riding for the 2015 federal election, with Robert McFadzean stepping forward to be the local candidate.

Melody Lepine, the Director of Government and Industry Relations for Mikisew Cree First Nations, has been elected as the NDP candidate for the Fort McMurray – Cold Lake riding.

Residents of the Fort McMurray – Cold Lake riding now have a fifth candidate to consider in the upcoming federal election. Roelof Janssen has added his name to the ballot representing the Christian Heritage Party (CHP).
