WEST KELOWNA, B.C. — The large wildfire that destroyed dozens of homes in West Kelowna, B.C. is now considered "held".

A 49-hectare fireguard, about one kilometre long and 400 to 500 metres wide, will be heavily logged east of Lake O’Hara Road and northwest of Lake Louise.

The four British Columbia firefighters who died in a highway crash this week all worked for a Kamloops-based contractor, whose owner said they were "our family.

"I wanted to have a relationship with my father, I did," says Amanda Denis.
