One of the arsonists responsible for a serious fire in Kehewin has been sentenced to 120 days.
Bob Lee White pled guilty to arson by negligence on Aug. 7, 2018. He adjourned his sentencing for the completion of a pre-sentence report.
He appeared in the Bonnyville Provincial Courthouse on Tuesday, Feb. 26, where he was sentenced by Honourable Judge Lawrence Nemirsky to 120 days behind bars.
The offence took place on May 14, 2018, when Bonnyville RCMP were called to a fire that had destroyed two holiday trailers.
The fire was the result of a disagreement between White and co-accused Colleen Badger.
Badger had started the fire following an argument, and then headed inside of the trailer.
White poured gasoline on the blaze, which spread to the two trailers, before leaving the scene.
In July 2018, Badger pled guilty to arson caused by negligence. She was sentenced to five months in custody and 12 months probation.
White had spent 64 days in custody before he was released on Aug. 7, 2018 on conditions. With 96 pre-trial days deducted, White has 24 left to serve of his sentence.
Nemirsky agreed White could serve his time on weekends at the Bonnyville RCMP detachment.
