BONNYVILLE – The Bonnyville and District FCSS is collecting data from the community through a survey, in order to help tailor programming to the unique needs of the Bonnyville community.
Residents have until July 1 to fill out the survey, which can be found on the FCSS website.
“Bonnyville and District FCSS is conducting a social needs assessment to get a sense of the community social needs and priorities. The data will be used to inform strategic planning for Bonnyville and District FCSS. The information will also be shared with the Town and MD of Bonnyville and other social serving agencies as requested,” said Rhonda Miron, Community Services Director for the Town of Bonnyville.
“There is even a survey that has been developed for youth, so their perspective is included. There are about 21 questions. It will probably take five to 10 mins to complete,” said Miron.
Miron explained that the social needs assessment not only collects data to help inform what programs should be offered and what preventative efforts are needed in the community but helps direct where funding is most needed and wanted in the community.
“The questions encompass what might be barriers to programs’ succeeding, resident’s awareness of existing programs and what residents want to prioritize for social programming. It also asks what programs are doing a good job. As well, it asks for demographic information, so we know more about our local population,” said Miron.
