The Bonnyville RCMP were hard at work from Dec. 12 to 20 dealing with a high volume of traffic collisions and assault files.
During that time, RCMP were called to 10 reports of assault or assault with a weapon, 14 traffic collisions, and one drug-related call.
Bonnyville man assaulted with bear spray
On Dec. 15, RCMP responded to reports of an assault in Bonnyville. A resident called 911 indicating they had been assaulted and bear sprayed; that individual was taken to hospital.
There have been no charges laid as the investigation is ongoing. RCMP are familiar with the suspect, but have been unable to locate him as of Wednesday, Dec. 20.
Search leads to larger find for RCMP
The following day, on Dec. 16, a Bonnyville woman was arrested on warrants.
After searching the vehicle RCMP discovered drugs, stolen property, and fraudulent material. The woman was charged with possession of stolen property.
Kehewin man charged with theft of a motor vehicle
RCMP responded to reports of a stolen truck on Dec. 16.
The call came in from the Mallaig in the area.
While stealing the vehicle, the Kehewin driver hit a guard rail. RCMP were able to track the truck to a residence in Bonnyville where they arrested the suspect.
Argument over sleep leads to assault
On Dec. 19, officers responded to a call regarding an assault on Kehewin.
An argument over the victim wanting to go to sleep had taken place. The victim attempted to leave the residence and was assaulted.
One female was arrested and charged with assault in relation to this incident.
