BONNYVILLE - Residents of the Bonnyville region who are interested in learning about the various services and programs offered by local organizations, as well as volunteering opportunities, will have the chance to do just that at the upcoming Community Awareness and Registration Night.
The event is set to take place on Sept. 4 at the Graham Field House inside of the Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre from 4-8 p.m.
According to Debbie Dallaire, the event coordinator for the Bonnyville Centennial Centre, the Community Awareness and Registration Night usually averages around 40 booths, with several exhibitors taking part.
Members of the public, she explained, come and pick up brochures, and have the opportunity to talk directly to representatives of the various organizations on display inside of the facility.
“We have this event every year for organizations and nonprofit groups that would like to get information out to the public on what they offer,” Dallaire told Lakeland This Week, adding that it is also a great opportunity for parents to see what’s out there for activities for their kids.
During the 2025 edition of the event, according to Dallaire, there will be a demo area whereby organizations and groups from the area can show off their skills.
The organizations that participate in the annual Community Awareness and Registration Night, Dallaire explained, range from local sports groups, including dance and cheerleading clubs, to search and rescue organizations, those offering painting and music classes, along with the local SPCA and EMS.
“It is quite a large range from this to that,” she said. “Their objective is to make our Lakeland aware of what Bonnyville and surrounding towns offer. We always had great success with this and hope to continue it every year.”
According to information from the Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre, booths cost $35 each. For more information about registration, please call
