Drugs and money seized during traffic stop in MD of Bonnyville

A traffic stop within the MD of Bonnyville carried out by RCMP has led to the arrest of a Cold Lake man and the confiscation of illicit drugs that police believe would have been otherwise trafficked.

Kyle Roth, a 38-year-old resident of Cold Lake, was arrested and faces charges of possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. 

BONNYVILLE – A traffic stop within the MD of Bonnyville has led to the arrest of a Cold Lake man and the removal of illicit drugs from the streets. 

On Sept. 4, Bonnyville RCMP stopped a vehicle on Highway 660. During the vehicle stop, officers allegedly discovered drugs and money in the vehicle, resulting in the arrest of the driver.  

A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and crack cocaine, as well as an undisclosed quantity of Canadian currency. 

Kyle Roth, a 38-year-old resident of Cold Lake, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. He also faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime.  

After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Roth was released on cash bail to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Bonnyville on Sept. 5.
