RCMP officers from Bonnyville were called to Glendon early this morning after receiving reports thieves had stolen the village's famous “world's largest perogy.”

A police spokesperson said it seems incredulous thieves could somehow manage to tear down and steal the 100-foot high perogy, located on the highway leading into the village 40 kilometres southwest of Bonnyville, but when officers arrived early this morning, the popular tourist attraction had gone missing.

“I don't know how they did it, but they did it,” said the officer, who did not want to give his name.

The officer said there were reports of several people partying in downtown Glendon on Thursday evening, who appeared to be covered in a white sauce that looked eerily similar to sour cream.

The RCMP said if the culprits are caught, they will face numerous charges, including pilfering a perogy.

April Fool's everyone! Hope this brought a little smile to your face as spring has finally sprung.

The incident as reported above never happened and Glendon's famous perogy is safe and sound.
