Former Bonnyville publisher drops by for a chat

If anyone remembers the heyday of the printing newspaper business it is Manfred Kronert.

Kronert was the publisher of the Bonnyville Nouvelle from 1967 to 2004 at a time when the newspaper was a broadsheet and was being printed in the back shop of the Nouvelle building located on Bonnyville's main street.

Times have changed and while Kronert is long retired from the printing business he still has a keen interest in the industry and is always up for a discussion on the good old days in Bonnyville and how times have changed since he was publishing the local newspaper.

Kronert now lives in BC but he dropped by the Nouvelle today (Oct. 3) to say hello as he often does when he is in town visiting family. However, this time it seemed especially fitting given that it is National Newspaper Week and Kronert is a newspaper man through and through. While it may be 20 years since he's had ink on this hands, it seems to still be running through his veins.

Nice to see you Manfred!
