High school assault ends in charges

A 17-year-old youth has been charged with assault following an incident at Kehewin School. On Friday, Sept. 21, at around 2 p.m., Bonnyville RCMP were called to a school in Kehewin regarding the assault of a youth.

A 17-year-old youth has been charged with assault following an incident at Kehewin School.


On Friday, Sept. 21, at around 2 p.m., Bonnyville RCMP were called to a school in Kehewin regarding the assault of a youth.


Police charged a 17-year-old in relation to the incident.


The victim, who is also a youth, sustained no injuries.


Police respond to unwanted male


On the night of Sept. 21, police were called to a residence on Range Rd. 490 near Glendon.


The call was about an unwanted male in a residence. As police were en route, they learned the suspect had left the residence in a vehicle.


Officers found the vehicle described, and conducted a traffic stop.


According to Sgt. Sarah Parke, the driver was showing signs of impairment.


As a result of the investigation, the driver was charged with impaired driving, impaired over .08, and driving while unauthorized.


The vehicle was towed at the scene.


RCMP called after local kids start a small fire


A group of kids all under the age of 12 were determined to be the culprits of a Sept. 20 arson investigation.


On that day, local RCMP were called about a possible arson of a grassy area on 44 Ave.


The suspects were located and because of their age, were unable to be charged.


RCMP looking for information about stolen vehicles


A number of vehicle thefts in the area are being investigated by RCMP.


Overnight on Sept. 18, two Chevy Silverados were stolen from Yellowhead Glass in Bonnyville.


On truck has since been recovered, however, there is still one missing.


The truck is a white Chevy Silverado with the company’s logo on the side. It’s license plate is BHC 3481.


The truck has about $10,000 worth of tools inside.


On Sept. 20, a Ford F250 was stolen from a rural residence. The truck is black and has an Alberta license plate of BBN 7628.
