LAKELAND - The Lakeland Lacrosse U11 girls team won bronze at the Fury Lacrosse Girls Rock 2025 tournament in Calgary.
The event took place on May 23-25 at the South Calgary Soccer Centre.
Head coach Eric Gaulin said it was an excellent weekend for the Lakeland heat team and expressed how proud he was of his team and their bronze medal win.
“The girls played with grit and heart and gave it their all,” said Gaulin.
During their first game against Fury Silver, Lakeland Heat won 4-2.
In their second game against Fury White, Lakeland Heat won 3-0.
In their third game against Fury Blue, Lakeland Heat lost 1-3.
During their final game for bronze against the Flatland Coyotes, Lakeland Heat won 5-3.
“[They] came out playing hard for bronze with the 5-3 victory over the Flatland Coyotes from Saskatchewan. Many Fantastic teams played [at the tournament] from several different age groups, with teams from Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan,” said Gaulin.
