Local church left scratching their heads after bouncy house theft

The Bonnyville Baptist Church has been left wondering who would steal their bouncy houses.

Bonnyville RCMP are still looking suspects after the local church reported a theft on Sunday, Jan. 28.

Sometime over the weekend, suspects broke into trailers on the future home of the Baptist church, across from École des Beaux-Lacs, and stole eight to 10 bouncy houses, and a couple of generators.

“We don't have any leads right now,” explained Sgt. Sarah Parke, of the Bonnyville RCMP detachment.

A 40-year-old Bonnyville man has been charged with two counts of shoplifting after an incident on Monday, Jan. 22.

At about 7:50 p.m., RCMP received a complaint from the Bonnyville Liquor Depot about a man who had shoplifted from their store.

The man was located and arrested by police.

He will face two counts of shoplifting and two counts of failing to comply with conditions during his first court appearance on Tuesday, Feb. 6.

Last week, RCMP had 14 reports of collisions locally, with one resulting in injury.

On Jan. 23, at approximately 6 p.m. officers were called to a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 660 and Range Road 55 after a vehicle ran a stop sign and hit someone turning left.

Charges are pending on the driver who failed to stop at the stop sign.

Local RCMP are reminding residents to shovel their sidewalks after a large snowfall last week.

One resident has already been charged under the bylaw requiring people to shovel their sidewalks within 48-hours of a snowfall.

The Fort Kent Store, the General Store in Bonnyville, the Bonnylodge, and the Dove Centre were broken into over the last week.

A red Ford F350 was stolen from the Centre Suite Inn in Bonnyville.

RCMP have video surveillance, and are asking the public to come forward with any information.
