On Oct. 16 at 9 a.m. a workplace accident occurred that resulted in the death of a local man.
While he was setting up to off-load piping with a knuckle boom picker, the worker sustained serious head injuries, said Tracey Kipta, spokeswoman for Alberta Employment and Immigration.
Bearing Oilfield Services Ltd. employed the man. The incident occurred in the yard of Tuboscope Canada in Bonnyville.
“It's a real tragedy,” said Shannon Ostapovich, president of Bearing Oilfield Services. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family right now.”
