Local RCMP investigating two armed robberies

Bonnyville RCMP are asking residents for information regarding two local robberies.

On April 26, at about 11:20 p.m., a lone male carrying a gun and wearing a balaclava entered the downtown 7-Eleven Convenience Store.

The male took an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene.

Early this morning (April 27), at around 6:35 a.m., the Co-Op Gas Bar on 54 Ave. in town also fell victim to a robbery, after a lone male pulled up to the store in a newer, red, possibly stolen Ford F-150.

The individual was wearing a balaclava and hood over his head when he entered the store. Brandishing a gun, he instructed clerks to hand over cash and cigarettes. He fled the scene.

No injuries were the result of either robbery, and investigators are continuing to determine whether the two incidents are related.

Bonnyville RCMP and the General Investigation Section (GIS) are asking any residences or businesses within the vicinity of the two stores with video surveillance to check the footage for any activity that may be related, and contact the RCMP.
