Cold Lake RCMP have confirmed the two males wanted in relation to the death of three in British Columbia were spotted in the area.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. on July 21, a north-end resident of cold Lake observed a vehicle stuck on a trail behind their residence.
The resident assisted two young males with getting their Toyota Rav 4 unstuck.
Once freed, the males left.
While on social media later that day, the resident recognized the two males as 18-year-old Bryer Schmegelsky and 19-year-old Kam McLeod of Port Alberni, B.C. The males have been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Leonard Dyck. They’re also suspected to be involved in the fatal shootings of Lucas Fowler and Chynna Deese.
RCMP won’t be releasing any further information about this sighting.
Cold Lake police on the hunt for arson suspect
Cold Lake RCMP have released images of a male suspect believed to be involved in the fire that destroyed a camper trailer.
Police were contacted by Cold Lake Fire-Rescue at about 8:30 a.m. on July 20 in relation to a suspicious camper fire near 56 Ave.
Surveillance footage from the area shows a male suspect on a bicycle wearing a black backpack and skateboard enter the camper trailer. After the male exited the trailer, smoke was visible before it became completely engulfed in flames.
According to RCMP, the camper was unoccupied and no one was injured as a result of the blaze.
The male suspect was wearing a black hoodie, beige khaki-style pants, black shoes, and a skateboard with bold expletive lettering.
