The man responsible for banging on a rural resident’s door in the middle of the night has pled guilty in court.
On Tuesday, June 26, Lowell Thomas Badger pled guilty to mischief and possession of methamphetamine in relation to the June 11 incident.
It was 11:04 p.m. when Bonnyville RCMP received a call from an MD resident claiming an intoxicated man had been banging on their door.
When police attended Badger had already left the property and was walking down Hwy. 41.
When officers located Badger, they arrested him and took him to the Bonnyville RCMP detachment.
The next morning, officers were searching the back of the police cruiser where Badger had been, and located meth and syringes.
Badger admitted the drugs were his.
The 52-year-old Kehewin man is familiar with the court system, said Crown prosecutor Jordan Kerr, who was seeking a 30-day sentence.
Honourable Judge Kathleen Williams agreed with the joint submission, and sentenced Badger to 30 days in custody.
As of his court appearance, Badger had served 15 days, with enhanced credit for 23. He had one week left to serve at the Edmonton Remand Centre.
Aside from the resident, Williams said the only person Badger seems to be hurting is himself.
