A scuffle at a party landed Charlie M. Houle behind bars.
On June 25, RCMP were called after Houle was involved in an altercation at his ex-girlfriend's residence.
St. Paul's chief Crown prosecutor Jordan Kerr, said the resident that lives below the ex-girlfriend made a call to police after Houle fell from the balcony above and landed on her patio.
According to Kerr, Houle had gotten into a fight with another male at the apartment. He smashed a cat food bowl, and eventually fell from the balcony of the residence.
He got up, and made his way to his vehicle before leaving the area.
The complainant was worried Houle was intoxicated.
Police located Houle and pulled him over. He failed a roadside sample, and was arrested.
At the detachment, Houle provided samples of 140-milligrams of alcohol per 100-millilitres of blood.
Houle pled guilty to mischief causing damage under $5,000, breaching the conditions of a recognizance, and operating a motor vehicle while his blood alcohol level exceeded .08.
During his appearance in the Bonnyville Provincial Courthouse on Tuesday, July 16, Honourable Judge Robert Shaigec sentenced Houle to pay $1,500 worth of fines, and a one-year driving prohibition in relation to the impaired driving charge.
He received one-day time-served for each of the remaining charges.
