Bonnyville RCMP are investigating after a vehicle was found engulfed in flames.

On Oct. 23, at around 11 a.m., police were called about a vehicle on fire on Range Rd. 463 and Twp. Rd. 640.

“It appears that all evidence was destroyed by the fire, however, the vehicle was towed and a partial plate was located,” said Sgt. Kim Hillier.

Truck stolen from rural property

“We received a complaint from a rural resident that his white truck, a 2007 white Ford, with Alberta marker 98 M865, with a dent on the end gate and decals near the rear window with Hill and Valley Ranch, with an aluminum slip tank in the back, was stolen,” detailed Hillier.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the detachment at 780-343-7200.

RCMP respond to two impaired complaints

On Oct. 26, at 9:30 p.m., RCMP were called to a possible impaired driver near McDonald’s in town. Members attended, a traffic stop was initiated, and a 25-year-old driver from Westlock provided samples that failed.

Samples provided at the detachment read 110-milligrams of alcohol per 100-millilitres of blood.

The male has been charged with impaired operation and will appear in court Dec. 17.

Earlier that night, at 8 p.m., police were contacted about a driver swerving all over the lines and onto the shoulder. The vehicle was located on Hwy. 28 and police issued the mandatory alcohol screening demand. The driver refused to provide a sample, so they were charged with refusal. The 42-year-old Saskatchewan male will appear in court Dec. 17.
