It was a ride to school they won’t soon forget.
A 39-year-old Ardmore school bus driver has been ticketed for turning left unsafely after causing a collision on 54 Ave. in Bonnyville.
On Thursday, March 8, just before school at 8:30 a.m. the driver turned from 50 St. onto 54 Ave., resulting in a collision with an electric truck.
None of the children on the bus were injured.
Second collision this week involving school bus
A second school bus driver was charged after a collision on Lakeshore Drive.
A 24-year-old male was driving an empty school bus on March 10 when he turned left, crossing the centre line and striking an oncoming truck.
The 55-year-old truck driver was injured and taken to hospital. He was released sometime later.
Door kicked in, window smashed
Officers are wondering why a home on 46 Ave. had its front door kicked in and window broken when nothing was taken.
On March 8, a local resident reported a break and enter, but told police it didn’t appear as though anything was stolen.
Police are asking the public to help put the pieces of the puzzle together. Anyone who may have heard, or seen anything in the 4,600-block on 46 Ave. on the day in question is urged to call the local detachment at 780-343-7200.
RCMP pursuing suspect in dealership theft
A local dealership reported their Ford F-450 was stolen from the parking lot after a male had attended the front desk earlier that day.
On March 7, the police received the report that the truck had been stolen.
After reviewing CCTV footage of a man standing at the front desk and stealing a set of keys, RCMP believe they know who stole the truck.
The incident is still under investigation, however, Bonnyville Sgt. Sarah Parke confirmed they’re pursuing a suspect.
Police searching for three stolen firearms
RCMP is looking for information regarding a recent rural theft where a television set and three firearms were stolen.
On March 5, a family on Range Road 482 reported their home was broken into, the front door had been damaged, and their truck was missing.
The vehicle was later located, however, the firearms and other items taken from the home have not been located.
An investigation is ongoing into the incident and anyone with any information is being asked to come forward.
Officers searching for two alleged liquor thieves
In the early hours of March 2, just before closing time, the 1AM Liquor Store in Bonnyville was subject to theft.
According to RCMP, the caller reported two Indigenous males entering the store just before it was about to close, and stealing $400 worth of liquor.
Police have released photos captured by CCTV cameras in the store, and are asking the public for help identifying the suspects.

Fuel theft from La Corey Esso
The La Corey Esso is down $455 in fuel after an Indigenous male in a red hat and shirt wearing camo pants filled a slip tank and took off with a second individual.
Parke claims the second male involved pulled up to the gas station in a silver Toyota Tundra, before abandoning it and taking off with the other suspect in the vehicle equipped with the slip tank.
The second male is described as Indigenous with a tattoo on his arm.
The two suspects left the gas station and headed east on Hwy. 55.
RCMP are requesting any information on the theft or the possible suspects involved.
