BONNYVILLE - The sharp eye of a Bonnyville RCMP member resulted in the quick recovering of a CASE ski-steer that was reportedly stolen in Bonnyville on Oct. 18.

At 9 a.m., Bonnyville RCMP received a report of a yellow CASE skid-steer being stolen from a job site on the 5200 block of 50th Ave. in Bonnyville.

Two hours later, a member of the Bonnyville RCMP who was travelling to Edmonton, noticed a GMC pickup truck hauling a trailer with a similar skid steer on Highway 28, near Waskatenau, and pulled it over.

"The skid-steer was confirmed to have been the one stolen in Bonnyville earlier that morning," according to police.

Tara Cartwright, 50, of Edmonton and Alexander Kalashnikoff, 37, of Red Deer were both charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and are scheduled to appear in Smoky Lake Provincial court on Nov. 2.

The skid-steer was returned to its owner.
