Teddy bears get First Aid treatment at EMS open house

Bonnyville paramedics got the chance to meet the public during a fun and informative EMS open house and community barbecue.

BONNYVILLE –  On May 24, the EMS division of the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority held an open house and free community barbecue, offering the public a chance to socialize with emergency responders in a relaxed setting.

The event included a blood pressure clinic and a first aid teddy bear clinic that had parents and youth lined up.

The afternoon event was a way to give the public a chance to meet front-line emergency healthcare workers in a fun and casual format, rather than during an emergency situation. Attendees also got the chance to tour an ambulance and meet Terry the Traumasaurus, the division's mascot.
