Trafficking charges laid

A routing traffic stop on Aug. 14 has resulted in trafficking charges being laid against a 31-year-old Bonnyville man. In a media release, Bonnyville RCMP indicate members conducted a stopped a GMC Sierra truck.

A routing traffic stop on Aug. 14 has resulted in trafficking charges being laid against a 31-year-old Bonnyville man.

In a media release, Bonnyville RCMP indicate members conducted a stopped a GMC Sierra truck. As a result of observations made at the scene, the members entered into a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation. A search warrant was obtained for the truck and a residence situated in the Town of Bonnyville.

Members of the Bonnyville RCMP executed the search warrants and obtained a total of 380 Ecstasy tablets, 4 grams of mushrooms, 52 grams of MDMA (another form of ecstasy), 12 vials of ketamine, miscellaneous pills, a functional scale, and other drug paraphernalia, according to the RCMP release.

In another drug related incident, Bonnyville RCMP have charged a 27-year-old man with production of a controlled substance and improper storage of a firearm.

On Aug. 15, RCMP responded to a non-drug related complaint at a residence in Bonnyville. The critical nature of the initial complaint called for the members to enter the residence for public safety reasons, according to an RCMP media release. The residence was un-occupied. A search of the residence revealed a small marijuana grow operation in the basement and an improperly stored firearm.

Based on what they had observed, members of the Bonnyville RCMP obtained a search warrant and seized four marijuana plants and a firearm.

Bonnyville RCMP are seeking the assistance from the public in helping to identify the person(s) responsible for the theft of a 1986 Honda ATV TRX 200 taken from 62305 Range Road 490 near Glendon.

On Aug. 6, RCMP received a complaint of a trailer being broken into and a quad stolen. It was taken sometime between July 1 and July 20. The quad is black with a blue seat. The fenders had been removed.
