The fire that destroyed a 49 Ave. home is believed to be caused by an arsonist.
Bonnyville RCMP confirmed on Friday (April 5) they have been investigating the fire that broke out at about 1 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4.
An early morning fire in Bonnyville is continuing to be investigated by the BRFA.
The Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority (BRFA) responded to a fire at 4123 49 Ave., a four-plex located in town.
Although there were four available units in the residence, only one was occupied at the time of the fire, which is believed to be started in the kitchen/living room area.
According to BRFA fire chief Brian McEvoy, the only occupant of the residence was sent to hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
