Whole community invited to Drive-in movie at the Bonnyville Rodeo Grounds

Local Lakeland co-operative organizations are hosting their annual members appreciation night and are inviting the whole community to take part in a free big-screen showing of The Super Mario Bros. Movie on Friday night at the Bonnyville Rodeo Grounds.

LAKELAND – Pack a blanket and some lawn chairs or curl up in your car if autumn evenings are a bit too chilly for you and head down to the Bonnyville Rodeo Grounds on Friday night.

On Sept. 8, local co-operative organizations are once again hosting their annual Member Appreciation event.

The community event put on by Lakeland Co-op, Lakeland Credit Union, and Co-operators Choquet Insurance are proud to host a screening of The Super Mario Bros. Movie for the whole community to enjoy.

“We are excited to once again be hosting this free event for our Lakeland community. Anyone is welcome to attend and enjoy a complimentary evening out – we even have attendees popcorn covered,” said Sue Wojcik, from Lakeland Co-op.

There will also be door prizes, and five food and beverage vendors to purchase from.

“It’s a great event for everyone in the community to enjoy, plus you can stay warm and cozy inside your vehicle if our fall weather is a bit chilly,” Wojcik explained.

The gates will open at 6:30 p.m. for movie-goers to pick their seats and get settled with some snacks and free popcorn. The movie will begin rolling on the big screen at dusk.

The five featured food and drink vendors include J&J’s Treat Trailer, Marvelous Minis, Sweet Rolls Creamery, Geneo’s Creative Cooking and Leo’s Lemonade.
