Man arrested in relation to weekend police vehicle ramming

Police have arrested 34-year-old Cody White in relation to the May 29 incident where a police cruiser was rammed multiple times and an officer discharged their firearm.

COLD LAKE - Cody Raymond White, a 34-year-old Marie Lake male, has been arrested and charged in relation to the RCMP vehicle ramming that took place over the weekend.

Cold Lake RCMP and Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (EADCRU) and Major Crimes Unit (MCU) located the truck involved in the May 29 incident where a Cold Lake police cruiser was rammed multiple times and an officer discharged their firearm.

RCMP found the white Ford F350 in an area north of La Corey and conducted a high-risk vehicle stop with the assistance of RCMP Police Dog Services.

The driver and lone occupant, White, was arrested and taken into custody.

White has been charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer, two counts of flight from police, two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, four counts of operating a motor vehicle while prohibited, and failing to stop after an accident.

White was remanded into custody and will appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on June 1 to speak to bail.
