COLD LAKE - A local man is $1 million richer thanks to seven lucky numbers.
Brian Hayes, a Cold Lake resident, won $1 million after purchasing a LOTTO MAX ticket at the CANEX Super Market at 4 Wing Cold Lake.
“I checked my ticket using the Lotto Spot! app,” he said in a media release. “I wasn’t sure I was seeing things right, so I checked it a few more times.”
“It was hard to believe,” he continued. “It took a little while to sink in… honestly, even now, I’m not sure that it’s completely sunk in."
Hayes hasn't made any concrete plans for his winnings, but said he does intend to share some of the money with friends and family.
"I might buy myself a new vehicle at some point too," he added.
Hayes' lucky numbers for the June 22 draw were 1, 15, 16, 29, 31, 32, and 46.
